Pepe is a beautiful loving dog that has had a second lease on life. He is surely hoping you will give him another chance and make your home and heart his forever place to live. Every dog has a gift to give and Pepe surely does. He is a loving and attentive dog.... hard to photograph, because he wants to be at your side all the time.... he will be a great companion for someone who doesn't expect him to run any marathons, just enjoy life to the fullest. He really needs you to open your heart and love for him.

(His Story)

I was found on the side of the road in La Gloria (near Tijuana), just too tired to move any more. I had been hit by a car a week or two before, and was left there, with a badly damaged bone piercing the skin, to die. I was tired and very hungry and I was suffering from a terrible case of fleas and scabies. A very nice man and woman picked me up and took me to the vet. When they x-rayed my leg, they found out that it was not the first time my leg had been broken. But this time it was badly shattered. The two vets who examined me wanted to put me down, but another vet wanted to rebuild the bone and save my leg. However, my leg was severely infected, because of the open wound where the bone was sticking out. Every one was kind, put me on pills (antibiotics and pain pills) for 10 days before they took me into surgery. It was then that they discovered my bone was too badly broken and dislocated to save. Amputation was necessary to save my life. But I am now completely recovered. I walk with no problems and I like to sing to express my gratitude and happiness. I don’t bark, am very active, but because of everything that has happened to me, I like to stay “close to home” which is, for me, a camper shell. I am not aggressive, don’t attack other dogs, Since I have never lived in a house, I probably am not house trained, but I would be willing to learn. I don’t need any special devices to walk…. I am ready to go to my new forever home.
